Sanaa Center

The Sanaa Center Project involves the development of a new creative and cultural hub in the heart of West Baltimore. The project will serve as the headquarters for Black Arts District. It will consist of a new, 2-story, +/-4,000 square foot addition to the existing Harris-Marcus Center, used for arts education, workforce and youth development. Adjacent to the Harris-Marcus Center addition, the Sanaa Center will be a newly constructed 3 story, +/-16,000 square foot building for entrepreneurs, working creatives and performing artists.

The Sanaa Center will activate a currently vacant lot in the Upton Community and create a full block of arts and cultural institutions in the 1900 block of Pennsylvania Avenue. This new arts and culture campus will serve as an economic and cultural hub that will empower Black creatives, strengthen the historic Pennsylvania Avenue Main Street, generate new jobs, and bolsters the arts ecosystem both in the Arts District and West Baltimore as a whole.
